Possibly less fans than expected may come to Poland for the 2012 European Football Championship, the Warsaw city paper Metro reported Wednesday.
According to Metro, most will be Poles and Ukrainians, who will co-host the tournament.
To date, UEFA has received 12 million subscriptions for Euro stadium tickets, 88 percent of them from Poland and Ukraine. Only 3 percent of the subscriptions came from Germany, from where most of the foreign traffic was expected.
Some of the foreign guests at Euro 2012 will also watch the matches from special fan zones outside stadiums.
The Euro 2012 soccer championship, to be hosted by Poland and Ukraine from June 8 to July 1, will take place in four Polish cities of Warsaw, Gdansk, Wroclaw and Poznan as well as four Ukrainian cities of Kiev, Lvov, Donetsk and Kharkov.
