Asian Financial Forum to Be Held in Hong Kong

The fourth Asian Financial Forum will kick off in Hong Kong on January 17 with Asia's growing role in the global economy being a key topic of discussion, the organizer said on Wednesday during a press conference.
Jointly organized by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the two-day forum will address major issues, challenges and opportunities facing the region and the Chinese mainland in particular under the theme Asia: Reshaping the Global Agenda.
A wide range of influential guests are expected during the event, such as Cheng Siwei, Chairman of the International Finance Forum (Beijing); Shang Fulin, Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission; William Hague, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, United Kingdom; Cesar Purisima, Secretary of Finance, the Philippines.
Other speakers include Nobel Prize-winning economist Robert Mundell, Chairman of Standard Chartered John Peace and Chairman of China Mobile Wang Jianzhou.
First launched in 2007, this year's event is expected to draw more than 1,500 participants from over 30 countries and regions.
