Air New Zealand has extended its NZ$50 stand-by fares to and from Christchurch until the end of the month.
The airline initially made the stand-by tickets - which allow passengers waiting at the airport to take up flights when there are spare seats - available for travel between February 28 and midnight on March 6.
It says it is also scheduling additional flights in and out of Christchurch, and using bigger planes on existing services.
And it's still offering reduced domestic and international fares for immediate family members needing to travel to and from Christchurch for funeral and memorial services.
