Regional airline QantasLink has announced it will more than double the number of return flights between Brisbane and Moranbah in central Queensland in the coming months.
Executive manager Narendra Kumar says the increase is in response to demand from the mining industry.
He says the airline will also put on more flights when Moranbah's airport upgrade is completed.
The airline says the arrival of more Q-400 planes means it can schedule extra flights, including 11 more flights per week into Moranbah.
There are also extra flights to other centres, including Rockhampton, Gladstone, Mackay and Emerald. One extra return flight per week will be scheduled between Brisbane and Mackay.
Capricorn Tourism and Economic Development chief executive Mary Carroll says it proves the regional economy is bouncing back.
