Finnair Plus members can now give their Plus points to the Japanese Red Cross, in donations of 3,000, 5,000 or 10,000 points. For example, with 3,000 points disaster victims will receive a blanket and a water canister or 5 kilos of tinned food, and with 10,000 points more than 100 kilos of rice.
"The tragic events in Northeast Japan are in our thoughts. We feel deep sorrow and sympathy for those affected by the earthquake and tsunami. Supporting the aid work is a simple and effective way of helping the victims of the disaster in Japan," says Finnair's Vice President, Sustainable Development Kati Ihamaki.
Finnair will give donations made with Plus points to the Finnish Red Cross, who will in turn forward them to the Japanese Red Cross.
You can donate points at the address https://pointshop.finnair.com/index.php?cPath=95_260 (https://pointshop.finnair.com/ > Charity).
Finnair has previously donated, for example, more than 10,000 blankets in disaster relief to the Finnish Red Cross.
