China Southern Airlines Co Ltd , the country's largest carrier by fleet size, will take delivery of the Airbus A380 in August, its chairman said on Tuesday.
Si Xianmin made the comment during a news conference after the airline announced its earnings results. Earlier this year, Airbus said it planned to deliver the A380 to China Southern in the second half.
The carrier reported a sharp jump in 2010 net profit to 5.8 billion yuan (US$883.5 million) from 330 million yuan in 2009, on robust demand for air transportation amid rapid growth in China's economy.
