AirAsia is looking at Airbus' A380 superjumbo but the aircraft is too expensive for the moment, the airline's chairman told Reuters in an interview on Nov. 18.
Tony Fernandes, chairman of Asia's largest budget carrier by fleet size, added that re-engining Airbus' A320 family of aircraft was definitely needed.
The Malaysian airline would consider buying planes made by Brazilian manufacturer Embraer or Canada's Bombardier if they made larger, 170-180-seat planes, he said.
