Air China Ltd has agreed to buy 20 Airbus aircraft for no more than US$4.49 billion to expand its fleet capacity by 18.6 percent.
The order includes 10 A330 jets and 10 A350s, it said in a statement to the Shanghai Stock Exchange on Nov. 18.
Air China won a "relatively big" discount, on the price of the planes, the country's leading international carrier said without giving specific figures.
The A330 aircraft will be delivered between 2013 and 2015 and the A350s between 2018 and 2020, it said.
