A Delta Air Lines plane en route to Los Angeles from Atlanta was forced to turn around and make an emergency landing due to engine problems, local television reported.
Fox5 News quoted aviation officials as saying Delta Flight 125, which took off from Hartsfield Jackson International Airport in Atlanta around 6:10 pm (23:10GMT) on Nov. 21, had to turn back when one of the engines failed.
The tail of the Boeing 767 scraped the runway upon landing, but no injuries were reported, the TV station said.
The plane, which had 262 passengers aboard, reported issues with the air ducts to one of the engines, according to the report.
After the flight landed safely, all the passengers were put on another plane which continued without further delays to Los Angeles, Fox5 News said.
The incident marked the second emergency landing for a Delta Boeing 767 jet in one day.
Earlier, a Moscow-bound passenger plane with 204 people on board made an emergency landing back in New York after developing an engine problem shortly after take-off, aviation officials said.
