AirAsia Takes on Jetstar on Darwin-to-Bali Route

Write: Wahib [2011-05-20]
Budget airline AirAsia has announced it will fly between Darwin and Bali.
The Malaysian carrier, one of Asia's largest, will begin the new daily service from December 23.
AirAsia will be the second airline to fly the route, which is currently serviced by Jetstar.
The airline's Widijastoro Nugroho is confident the route will be profitable.
"Competition is there and it's good," he said.
"I think it will bring a lot more people to travel and to fly, and that's the effort we have been doing in opening in new cities and new destinations.
"And we just have to put in a lot of effort and work hard for it."
AirAsia already operates flights between Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne, Perth and the Gold Coast.
