Import price advanced today. U.S. and Indian posted strong gains. West African and CIS styles were moderately higher.
Yarn sales has been improving lately, with price heading higher in recent days. Spinners appear somewhat relieved now and demand for raw cotton is on the rise. Previously idled capacities are quickly reactivated by using cheap styles. Some large mills are preparing for post-holiday production and offtake is increasing.
ZCE cotton futures opened flat and closed slightly higher. As domestic fundamentals improves, RMB rate continued to rise, reaching a new high since the reform in 2005. Cotton futures will continue to look for direction in the near term.
