China Time-honored Brand Expo 2011 opened in the Beijing Exhibition Center Friday. A hundred and seventy-seven of China's oldest and most respected brands from Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and 13 other provinces, cities and municipalities have gathered in Beijing to promote their businesses.

The brands participating in the expo mostly deal with traditional handcrafts, foods, wines and other cultural heritage products.It is not easy for a company to be recognized as a time-honored brand in China. With people's living standards improving constantly, they have more and more brands of consumer products to choose from. The time-honored brands have all endured through various tests and hardships over a long period of time. With strong historical connotations and unique cultural context, all the time-honored brands have now become symbols of their respective cities.
The four-day expo will end on August 21.
