Hong Kong Disneyland Resort announced Friday that the theme park will raise the price of its one-day ticket by 14 percent starting from August.
The fee for both adult and child will be at 399 HK dollars and 285 HK dollars respectively, representing a 14 percent rise from the current level. However, the prices for the senior and the multi-entry passes will be slashed by 41 percent.
The theme park also unveiled brand new two-day ticket and several other discount offers. Hong Kong residents will also be able to purchase tickets at the current price till the end of November this year.
A Disney spokesman told media that it's the first across-the- board change in ticket pricing in nearly six years since the opening of the theme park.
He said the decision for the new pricing scheme "is a carefully- considered package which has taken into consideration a variety of factors such as rising inflation and growing operating costs."
Another popular Hong Kong tourist destination Ocean Park announced in June it will raise admission fee by 12 percent in November this year, also citing reasons including higher running costs and inflation.
