A US price hike by soft drink giant Coca-Cola won't affect Coca-Cola prices in China, China Business News reported Tuesday.
"Our companies have comprehensive price strategies for the Chinese market, and each bottler will set a price in accordance with the local market," the newspaper reported, Coca-Cola China told the newspaper.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Coca-Cola Co will increase the price of its beverage products starting July 31 by 3 percent to 4 percent.
Instead of raising prices, some local bottlers of Coca-Cola China shrank the bottle size. Coca-Cola China's Hangzhou bottler changed its 600-milliliter packages to 500 milliliters in May, but charges the same price.
