BEIJING - China's central bank on Wednesday released commemorative coins for the coming 90th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
The coin, made of brass alloy and 30 mm in diameter, has a face value of five yuan ($0.77).
A total of 60 million coins have been issued this time by the People's Bank of China, or the central bank.
The fore face of the coin carries the country's name and the year of 2011.
On the other side are images of the CPC emblem and flag, as well as a peony, pigeon, five stars, and the words "the CPC 90th founding anniversary" and "1921-2011."
The coins can be circulated as normal currency.
The anniversary will fall on July 1.
