Chrysler Group LLC would recall 11, 351 2011-model-year vehicles for a possible steering problem, according to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Chrysler Group said in the documents that some vehicles may be built with a missing or incorrectly installed steering column pivot rivet that could cause steering problem in the event of a crash.
The company added that there are no accidents or injuries related to this steering issue.
The affected vehicles include the Chrysler 200 and 200 convertible cars, Town and Country minivan, Dodge Avenger, Caliber, Caravan, Journey and Nitro vehicles, and Jeep Compass, Liberty, Patriot and Wrangler SUVs, according to the NHTSA documents.
Chrysler Group will begin notification of dealers and owners in July and all the related costs would be borne by Chrysler.
