A user operates a iPad. A court in China verdicts three people who got involved in iPad 2 leak case.
Two people found guilty in the case were employees with Foxconn, a world's leading contract manufacturer with Apple and other electronics giants, said a report by Wall Street Journal.
The court sentenced Xiao Chengsong, the legal agent of Maita Electronics, to 18 months in prison and fined him 150,000 yuan ($23,076) for buying the digital design of iPad 2's back cover from two Foxconn employees, the report said.
Foxconn employee Lin Kecheng, got a jail term of 14 months and a fine of 100,000 yuan (US$15,384), while another worker identified as Hou Pengna was given a two-year sentence suspended for one year and fined 30,000 yuan (US$4,615).
The theft resulted in fake iPad 2 tablets being sold in China before Apple's official launch of the product, incuring a loss of 2.06 million yuan which Apple had paid for iPad2's R&D, accroding to an asset valuation firm in Shenzhen.
