URUMQI -- China Southern Airlines on Thursday launched new non-stop flights between the far west city of Urumqi and Tbilisi, capital of Georgia, opening up more convenient options for travelers between the two countries.
As the first and only direct airline between China and Georgia, the new route is expected to help promote the economic and cultural exchanges between the two countries, said the airline company.
The new route uses a Boeing aircraft and operates three times a week, said the company.
The flight departs at 7:30 pm local time from Urumqi every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and leaves from Tbilisi the next day.
