Chinese stocks closed lower at midday Tuesday after the statistics authorities announcing that the nation's third-quarter gross domestic product (GDP) slowed to 9.1 percent.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index tumbled 1.67 percent to end the morning session at 2,399.58.
The Shenzhen Component Index lost 1.69 percent to 10,336.23.
The nation's GDP stood at 9.5 percent in the second quarter and 9.7 percent in the first quarter, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
