The State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission named CETC International, the export arm of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC group), the model company of social responsibility on Monday in Beijing.
"CETC has been looking for an original way to build a social responsibility system, so it's a great thing to make it a role model," said Guo Jianxin, deputy secretary general of the SASAC, which falls under the State Council.
CETC group is a major provider of IT products and services for military and civilian use and has more than 200 subsidiaries around China.
CETC also released a 67-page Social Responsibility Report on the same day, making the company the first of its kind to release such a report.
The company's motto is "Build a smarter nation, enjoy a better life," and it has adopted five "standards" of responsibility to employees, the country, the market, the environment and the whole society.
"As a core military company, CETC takes inevitable responsibility for a stronger army and a better society and the main strength of civil information system," said General Manager Xiong Qunli. "So we have to behave as a role model and it's our mission."
