The Shenzhen Component Index fell 59.52 points, or 0.48 percent, to 12,448.48.
Hong Kong stocks lost 130.93 points, or 0.54 percent, to close at 24,007.38 Tuesday.

Tokyo stocks fell Tuesday, with the key Nikkei index dropping 1.17 percent.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 Average lost 113.27 points from Monday to 9,558.69. The broader Topix index contracted 7.04 points, or 0.84 percent, to 833.64.
