Chinese shares closed mixed Friday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 7.89 points, or 0.26 percent, to 3,050.53.
The Shenzhen Component Index dipped 26.18 points, or 0.2 percent, to 12,965.75.
Hong Kong stocks lost 5.93 points, or 0.02 percent, to close at 24,008.07 on Friday.
Japan
Tokyo stocks fell Friday with the key Nikkei index down 0.65 percent.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 Average lost 62.40 points from Thursday to 9,591.52.
The broader Topix index was down 5.43 points, or 0.64 percent, to 841.29.
Australia
The Australian stockmarket fell and the Australian dollar nudged lower as the prospect of China raising interest rates saw investors trade with caution.
The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index closed down 32.1 points, or 0.66 per cent, at 4852.1.
The broader All Ordinaries index shed 33.1 points, or 0.67 per cent, to 4939.3. The All Ords lost 1.8 per cent for the week.
