HANOI - China's ZTE Corporation donated $1 million worth of data communication lab to the Vietnam National University on Tuesday.
Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Sun Guoxiang, representatives of ZTE, officials from Vietnam's Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of Information and Communication and Vietnam National University were present at the donation ceremony.
Ge Yuqiao, representative of ZTE Vietnam office, said at the ceremony that after 12 years of establishment, the ZTE Vietnam has achieved fruitful results.
ZTE will always actively cooperate with the Vietnam National University, and the lab will play an important role in promoting the two sides' further cooperation in the field of data communications and providing Vietnamese students a chance to access to modern facilities, equipment and telecommunications services in the world, said Ge.
Ha Duyen Tu, vice principal of the Vietnam National University said that Vietnam now has a huge demand for high quality manpower in the telecommunications industry. Cooperation with ZTE will further enhance the research and training capacity of the university.
Since it entered the Vietnamese market in 1998, ZTE is now operating in fields of routers, IP switches and other data communications products. Cooperation with the Vietnam National University marks another key breakthrough for ZTE in the Vietnamese market.
