Chinese shares closed modestly higher in the morning session Thursday, as investors expect more positive policies from the upcoming annual sessions.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 16.59 points, or 0.57 percent, to finish the morning session at 2,930.4.
The Shenzhen Component Index edged up 8.3 points, or 0.06 percent, to end the morning session at 12,888.56.
