First Chinese producer of transportation jigs for Airbus aircraft in development
Tianjin Saixiang Technology Co, Ltd, (TST) has delivered the first batch of Airbus A350 XWB transportation jigs. The jigs, including those for the transportation of wings, horizontal tail planes (HTP), removable parts of HTP and vertical tail planes (VTP), will be shipped to Europe by sea from the Tianjin Port to the France-based company NFM Technologies, which is the tier-one supplier responsible for the design and production of the transportation jigs for the A350 XWB program.
The transportation jigs are used to transport the sections of A350 XWB that are manufactured in various sites around Europe to the Final Assembly Line in Toulouse, France. The transportation jigs produced by TST have been verified and approved by NFM and Airbus. TST is the first Chinese company to produce transportation jigs for Airbus aircraft. Before now, TST had produced transportation jigs for the Airbus A320 Family Final Assembly Line China (FALC).
The A350 XWB (Extra Wide Body) Family is Airbus response to the widespread market demand for a series of highly efficient medium-capacity long-range wide-body aircraft. With a range of up to 8,300 nm/15,400 km, it is available in three basic passenger versions. Since the A350 XWB is Airbus s newest model, the manufacturing work for its transportation jig has no example to follow. However, it only took TST 100 days to bring out the first set of jigs with proficiency and accuracy.
