The Xiang Gully is located 42 km north of Guiyang, where a winding river and green mountains covered in luxuriant bamboo groves present an elegant landscape. What makes this gully special is its papermaking industry. A massive group of 42 waterwheel mills and 100 troughs demonstrate the ancient art of papermaking, using the power of water and the most primitive techniques. Their products are for burning in sacrificial ceremonies. There are also numerous vistas to enjoy in this 300-metre-deep gully.
