Within the park, there are altogether more than 2,000 cliff mountains, towering into the sky like a dancing group, with various physical appearance and grand force of character. The water here is also appealing. Five streams winds in the deep valleys. The waterfalls sometimes are hidden in the jungle, sometimes shock you with the boom reflected from the valley.
Zhangjiajie is a green treasure house as well as a natural zoo. 98% forest coverage nursed a booming nature. Among the 102 families and 720 species trees, some are really rare: Chinese dove tree, trembling poplar, red nutmeg, etc. The jungle provides perfect surroundings for the wild lives to habitat. Within this area there are 149 species of wild animals, including 28 national grade 1 and grade 2 protected animal species. So far there are 6 scenic districts: Huangshizhai, Jinbian Stream, Yaozizhai, Shadao Valley, Chaotianguan, Yuanjiajie, in which more than 90 most popular spots have been named. It is mysterious and profound when the Park is in misty rain. After rain, it clears up and the cloud rolls up and mist rushes down, the peaks seem like losing in the cloud. Yet when the sunshine comes out the mountain forest is spotlessly clean in distance. The whole scene looks like a Chinese traditional painting.
