Po Lin Monastery

Po Lin Monastery is the most well-known Buddhist monastery in Hong Kong, as it holds a collosal copper idol of Sakyamuni or Tian Tan Buddha, which is reputed as the tallest outdoor Buddha statue in the world. Po Lin Monastery literally means 'Precious Lotus', is located on Lantau island, which is the largest outlying island in Hong Kong. Tung Chung Fort

The Chung Fort was listed as one of the historical monuments. It was built in 1817 in Hongkong, with aiming to defend the coast from pirates and suppressing the opium trade. The fort with 6 old cannons and the enclosures are made of granite. The ruins of the Tung Chung Battery are also located in the vicinity.

Tai O

Tai O, a small fishing town with a history of more than 300 years, is well-known for its hundreds of stilt houses. The town retains much of its legacy, such as waterways, stilt houses and fishing boats. There some fine restaurants in Tai O, serving some of famous traditional Chinese cuisines, like salted fish and shrimp paste, etc.
