Daluo River
Daluo River is located in the development area of the provincial port-Da Luo Town, 4 km from the town government, about 1km from the 219-218 boundary marker between China and Myanmar and 3kms from the Fourth special region of Myanmar, Mong La.
Da Luo is a Dai language with the meaning of a port for all people. As a small town in the southern border area of Xi Shuang Ban Na, Da Luo is 133 km from Jung Hong city, 70 km from Meng Hai County. The Da Luo River is a gently flowing branch of Mei Gong River with the breadth of 30 meters. There are five villages on the south bank of Da Luo River. They are Da Luo, Man Bang, Man Chan, Man Zhang and Long Li.
People visiting Da Luo will be bound to appreciate the grand scenery of One-Tree-Forest that are very common in such tropical areas like Xi Shuang Ban Na. The scenery is formed like this: besides the trunk, the big banyan trees also have many branches which get into the soil to become the trunk of new trees, which leads to the formation of a forest.
One Tree Forest
A big-leaf banyan tree growing in tropics and subtropical zone is located 3.5 km south Da Luo town near the boundary of China-Myanmar, with the height of 28 meters, the history of 900 years, the covering area of 120 square meters which acts as both a fence and a green protective screen.
Some aerial roots will grow from the trunk of the big banyan tree to whose base they would twine. Through the branches of the banyan tree breaks 32 aerial roots that are hanging down into the earth to be an aerial roots jungle. These straight aerial roots are standing in lines like soldiers who protect their motherland at the frontier, which makes people respectful. Therefore, the One-Tree-Forest scenery in Da Luo town is indispensable for the tourists to Xishuangbanna.
