Shanghai Wild Animal Park is the first national wild animal park established by Shanghai City Government and the formal National Forest Department. It is located in Sanzhao Town, Nanhui District, Pudong New Area, Shanghai, 35km from Shanghai downtown and coving an area of 205 hectares (3100Mo). There are more than 200 kinds of rare animals totaling over 10,000 from all over the world, such as giraffe, zebra, white rhinoceros and hunting leopard that are from abroad, and giant panda, snub-nosed monkey, south China tiger and other domestic rare animals. The park is divided into two parts: bus area and walk area. There are herbivore zone, free zone, aquatic bird lake, birds zone, animal kindergarten, pet monkey park, rare animal park, animal performance zone, sea lion performance zone and other spots in the Park.
Entering the bus area, you will see the gentle giraffe stretching its neck looking forward to tourists' coming; elephant, the most biggest mammal in the land, greeting the tourists; hunting leopard, the fastest animal, hunting foods; north China tiger showing its king's manner. In the walk area, you can get close to many gentle animals, such as Australian kangaroos, Asian deer, African ring-tailed lemurs, Latin American yellow and blue Macao s.
You can also take pictures together with reclaimable animals, such as lions, tigers, bears, leopards, elephants. In animal kindergarten, there are lovely small animals for you to have a hold. You can watch big animals' performance, sea lions performance and other performances.
