Located at No. 77 at Jiefang Road in Tianjing City, the Tianjin Arts Museum is a typical Baroque building with the building area of 4278 square meters. It was the site of the former French East Huili Bank built in 1902. In 1957, the building was reconstructed as the arts museum.
Tianjin Arts Museum collects over 2,000 precious jade articles and among them it is especially refined that the jade works of Shang and Western Zhou Dynasty. And the 3,000 pieces of porcelain collection completely reflects the products from all government kilns in past dynasties. What s more, the ink-stones here are the top quality articles and fine antique, including stone ink-slab, jade, porcelain, iron, agate, as well as crystal ink-slabs and so on. In addition, the museum also gets together variety of Tianjin folk artworks, such as Clay Figurines Zhang, New-Year pictures in Yangliuqing, Tianjin Wei Kite, and paper cutting etc.
