The central authorities are now suggesting that legal action may be taken to try to protect Chinese fine-coated paper companies.
This comes following an EU decision to impose impose anti-subsidy and dumping duties on the product.
After a 15-month investigation, the EU has now decided to charge dual duties for Chinese on fine-coated paper products ranging from 8 to 35 percent.
Fine-coated paper is mainly used to produce brochures.
The Chinese Commerce Ministry contends this country's fine-coated paper market is a highly competitive industry, which has no government intervention.
