On 12 March, Nansha Customs House (affiliated to Guangzhou Customs District) released quickly the yachts declared by the organizing committee of the 2010 Asian Games (with a value of USD 239,500) for the test event of the sailing competitions as temporarily imported goods. Customs officials said this is the first shipment of Asian Games-related materials that Guangzhou Customs District had released by far. On the same day, Luogang Customs Office (also affiliated to Guangzhou Customs District) provided convenient clearance services for another 5 containers of materials for the test event.

Guangzhou Custom District is responsible for the control of the materials entering and leaving China for the 2010 Asian Games. Working closely with the organizing committee, Guangzhou Custom District tries to cerate a sound clearance environment for the Games. Several special working groups which will take care of the operations of customs control, duty collection, anti-terrorism and back-up services were established to provide comprehensive organizational support. At the request of the organizing committee, Guangzhou Customs District picked up a senior official to sit on the committee, acting as the coordinator and problem shooter. More importantly, a dedicated green channel was opened to speed up the clearance process for the Games-related materials and personnel.
