Vice Minister Niu Dun Meets with Tsutsui Nobutaka, Vice Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan

On December 10h of 2010, Niu Dun, Vice Minister of Agriculture of China (MOA), met with the visiting delegation led by Tsutsui Nobutaka, Vice Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan (MAFF). The two sides exchanged views on the bilateral cooperation on agricultural trade.

Vice Minister Niu said that as two economic powers in the world, China and Japan enjoyed strong complementarities in the agricultural product mix, and the market-oriented and interdependent bilateral agricultural trade between the two countries grew rapidly. Niu spoke highly of the collaboration between China National Agricultural Development Group Corporation (CNADG) and MAFF, and hoped that enterprises from both countries could have pragmatic cooperation with each other in an active way to further promote the sound growth of China-Japan agricultural trade.

Tsutsui expressed his agreement to Niu s suggestions, and exchanged views with him on some specific issues on the export of Japanese agricultural products to China.

Officials from the Department of International Cooperation, the Department of Science and Education, the Bureau of Fisheries and the Bureau of Agro-Product Quality and Safety of MOA and from CNADG also attended the meeting.
