Changsha Yingpan Tunnel to Be Completed in Late March

On the afternoon of February 9, Wang Jinbao, a qualified worker, is operating a pile driver at the construction site of Wuyi Avenue, Changsha Subway.

To make the citizens feel free to cross the Xiangjiang River as soon as possible, the workers have stuck to their posts and kept on building the four bridges and tunnels through the Xiangjiang River during the Spring Festival holiday.
At the construction site on the eastern bank of Xiangjiang River in the section of Yingpan Road, there are always dusts and concrete powder all over the sky. Few workers can be seen above the ground for most of them are working 40 meters deep underground. It is scheduled that the tunnel will be completed at the end of March, the ramps will be finished in late April and the tunnel will be opened to traffic in September.
The opening ceremonies for the bridges of Xiangfu Road, Fuyuan Road and the tunnel of Nanhu Road were held on the same day of September 2010. According to the schedule, Xiangfu Road Bridge and Fuyuan Road Bridge will be opened to traffic respectively in August of 2012 and January of 2013. The construction of the two bridges is continuing during the Spring Festival in order to end the underwater construction before the flood period.
Secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee Chen Run'er demanded that Wuyi Avenue be opened to traffic before the National Day of 2011. At present, all project departments along the Wuyi Avenue are striving to finish the projects concerned and restore the traffic ahead of the National Day this year.
