YANTAI, Dec.22, 2004 Transfer medium buses to big buses and build public transit stations are two major public transit work this year. This year, the traffic department has invested 55 million yuan to perfect the citizen's traffic project and the traffic condition is becoming better and better.
In 2004, urban public transit enterprises invest 46 million yuan to transfer medium buses to big buses. They also strengthen the intensive management and corporatization managing.
In order to create the good traffic conditions, the traffic department invests nearly 9 million yuan to improve the public transit infrastructure.
Since May of this year, the traffic department has perfected and updated the more than 2,800 station boards according to the national regulation; implemented biligual report of the station names; realized paying by credit card in 13 bus routes. All of these measures have helped citizens go by bus greatly.
It is said, in 2005 our city will continue strengthening the infrastructure construction of public transit.
