The First Phase Garden Landscape Project of the Xiaoqing River Will Be Completed in August

After greening, the Wuliu Island is expected to be a paradise of birds

It is learned from the Command Office of the Xiaoqing River Comprehensive Renovation Project, except for the north bank, the First Phase Garden Landscape Project of the Xiaoqing River has entered the final stage. The riverside landscape of shades of willows on both sides will initially appear in August. So far, the First Phase Landscape Project of the Xiaoqing River has built greenbelt of 605,000 square meters, planted about 160,000 trees, ground cover and aquatic plants of 550,000 square meters, and newly built 7 wharves, forming 5 special plant landscapes.
The First Phase Garden Landscape Project of the Xiaoqing River began in 2008, starting from Linjia Bridge in the west and Jiqing Expressway in the east. With a total length of 13.1km and a total area of 930,000 square meters, the project mainly includes south bank landscape, north bank landscape, and Banqiao square. Currently, it has basically formed a landscape belt by taking Wuliu Island and Banqiao Square as its center with two green transport corridors built on north and south banks, which has effectively improved the project image, perfected functions of riverway, improved ecological environment, and played an important role in accelerating the development of north city area.
