On 17th November afternoon, the Inaugural Meeting of the Advisory Panel for Longyan Municipal People s Government and the First Consulting Conference was held in Minxi Hotel. The 10th CPPCC standing member and the State Council Counselor Ren Yuling, Academician of Chinese Academy of Science and the former president of Fujian Academy of Agricultural Science Xie Hua an, Director of Financial Scientific Institute of the Ministry of Finance Jia Kang, researcher of the Development Research Center of State Council Li Zuojun, Dean of the Regional Planning and Policy Research Center of School of Public Administration of Renmin University of China Zhang Keyun, Vice Director and researcher of the Development Research Center for Fujian Provincial People s Government Wang Kaiming, Vice Director of Fujian Economic Information Center Ma Xiangbing, Xiamen International Airport Group Company Limited president Wang Titang and so on, and the leaders of Longyan Municipal People s Government Huang Xiaoyan, Jiang Dizhang, Zhang Xiujuan, Zheng Ruzhan, Zhang Siliang, Wen Xihao, Xu Jiwu, attended the meeting.
Acting Mayor Huang Xiaoyan delivered the letters of appointment to the advisers. Vice Mayor Jiang Dizhang chaired the meeting and read out the decision on employing advisers for Longyan Municipal People s Government.
The Advisory Panel is a consultative body for the City Government in decision making. The 34 members are notable experts and scholars experienced in providing consulting in the fields of economy, finance, science, technology, administration and laws, and entrepreneurs, distinguished people who have made great contribution to the economic and social development of Longyan. The Advisory Panel is divided into four teams, namely economic and social development, Sci-tech and informatization, investment promotion, and legal affairs.
Huang Xiaoyan expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the members of the advisory pedal, and congratulations on the establishment of the advisory pedal. He said, the establishment of advisory pedal was an important measure the government took in fulfilling the Scientific Outlook on Development and enhancing decision-making through scientific, democratic and legal process, so as to increase administrative efficiency. To set up a high standard advisory body for decision-making might help to improve the government s decision-making capability. The city government would bring the think tank of the advisory pedal into full play. He wished that all the advisers might give more precious suggestions to the city government; in return, the city government would take the role of the advisory pedal and consulting mechanism into an important and essential part of the government work. He believed that, with the help and support of the advisors, Longyan economic and social development was determined to enter a new stage, and Longyan would play a leading role in the construction of the Economic Zone West of the Taiwan Strait.
The advisors present at the meeting raised opinions and suggestions on issues of development of advantageous feature industries, upgrading and optimization of industries, enhancing exchange and cooperation with the neighboring areas, encouraging farmers to start new businesses, strengthening the scientific and technological support for agriculture, speeding up the construction of e-government, building up energy-efficient and environment-friendly society.
