CCTV s Economic Half-hour Covered The Industry of Processing with Materials Provided in Jingning

During the 4th Plenary Session of the 11th National People s Congress and the 4th Session of the 11th Chinese People s Political Consultative Conference, the program Xiaoya in the Two Sessions of the column Economic Half-Hour of CCTV2 launched a special coverage on the industry of processing with materials provided in Jingning County as a project helping rural women to get well-off and one that helps to win people s applause. The reporters from CCTV visited Dongkeng Village of Jingning County to experience the scene of women busily engaged in processing, witnessing the prosperous processing industry there and feeling the sound social and economic benefits the industry brings to local women.
In recent years, with the support from party committees and governments at all levels and their concerned departments, the industry of processing with materials provided achieved a fast boom in Jingning County. The income from processing amounted to 190 million Yuan and over 10,000 women were involved. These women s annual income per capita reached 18,000 Yuan, ranking among the top ones in income growth per capita in Lishui City. The industry has helped in tackling the unemployment problem of the surplus labor force in rural areas to a large extent, increased the income of rural women, and enhanced the influence and fame of Jingning County.
