Jiangyin became a model city in national traffic management

The ceremony of giving the tablet of provincial traffic management model city was held in Jiangyin yesterday morning. Jiangyin was conferred a title on 2008-2009 traffic management model city by Jiangyin Municipal Public Security Department and Housing and Urban-rural Development Department. Liu Zhao, Deputy Director of the Transportation Administration of the Public Security Department, Lan Rong, Deputy Inspector of the Housing and Urban-rural Development Department, Zhu Minyang, Member of Wuxi Municipal CPC Standing Committee and Secretary of Jiangyin Municipal Party Committee and Tao Sugen, Deputy Mayor presented the ceremony.

Zhu Minyang said that in the process of building a happy Jiangyin, Jiangyin made the convenient transportation a key link of improving the citizens sense of happiness. There was no stint in investing the infrastructure and it was keeping optimizing the roads layout and the construction of urban-rural integrated street networks. At present, an urban street network layout had formed, which made the provincial and city s main roads as the main framework and was connected by round-the-city roads and interlaced high-speed roads in districts. At the same time, it strengthened the administration, taking people as a dominant factor, starting from the details, considering systematically, renovating back streets and alleyways and solving problems such as difficulty of parking. All these ordered the traffic on the roads effectively and created a safe and convenient transporting environment.

Jiangyin s next step is to further optimize urban road networks layout according to the idea of planning, deploying and constructing the city s development and roads traffic simultaneously, to put the five-year plan on the intelligent traffic into practice, and to progressively achieve the goal that the intelligent traffic systems, including online traffic lights, the traffic control photographic system and the traffic flow volume monitoring, cover the whole city, connect the whole road network and work the whole day. Meanwhile, it makes a further exploration on new administrative pattern of transportation services, builds traffic service stations in towns and villages, focuses on raising the consciousness and quality of civilized transportation among citizens and improves Jiangyin s road traffic management into a new level.
