The Chinese Elements Active Zone of the World Expo will greet guests from tomorrow
On May 2, the Chinese Elements Active Zone of the World Expo announces at the press conference that Chinese element activities will be officially launched on May 4. During the Activity Week, each province and autonomous region will draw performance troupes to stage excellent plays, thus showing Chinese traditional culture in the forms of performance, exhibition, interactive learning and passing down. In accordance with the arrangements, Sichuan Activity Week will be held from August 17 to 21.
Panda and the Sanxingdui Ruins shine on Sichuan Activity Week
The Chinese Elements Active Zone, created by Shanghai World Expo Coordination Bureau and 31 provinces, autonomous regions, Hong Kong and Macao, will be held in the form of 5-day rotation on Baosteel Stage and on the Festival Square simultaneously.
Sichuan Activity Week mainly includes square performance, cruise and stage performances on Baosteel Stage and other small stages. The theme of suqare perfomance is to let the panda talk with the world. The cruise will present the characteristics of the 21 cities and regions of Sichuan. The design of the performance on Baosteel Stage absorbes the elements of the bronze tree from the Sanxingdui Ruins and performs folk dances of many nationalities.
The small stage performance will be designed to simulate Sichuan teashouse, to show Sichuan-style customs and culture through traditional folk performances such as face changing show.
Each province will stage traditional unique skills
From May 4 to June 2, Activity Weeks of Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia and Liaoning will be held successively.
Beijing Activity Week lauches The Charm of Beijing campaign which perfectly fuses the ancient and modern elements of the city. Baohai Sea New Fashion will show the unique culture of Tianjin by high level folk music performances in Tianjin Activity Week. The Charm of the Capital City and Its Environs in Hebei Activity Week will show the world the artisitc charm of Hebei, township of acrobatics and province of forlk crafts.
In the campaign of Charming Shanxi of Shanxi Activity Week, 38 teams will participate in art performances, presenting a full interpretation of the connotation of Three-Jin culture. Civilized Grassland of the Inner Mongolia Activity Week will capture dribs and drabs of everyday life, revealing grassland civilization.
Tian Liao Di Ning ( The Vast Sky and Tranquil Land ) of Liaoning Activity Week will perform a variety of colorful folk arts.
Celelbrities on duty for cultural inheritance
In order to better preserve traditional Chinese culture, the Chinese Elements Active Zone sets up Consultative Group of Experts. Yan Chong-nian, a well-known scholar, and Zheng Yan-nong, the vice president of China International Public Relations Association, accepted the certificate of expert consultants at the conference site.
The Chinese Elements Active Zone will invite many celebrity volunteers to work on duty, to guides and divert tourists, to interact at the same time with audiences and intangible cultural heritage inheritors, to experience endless Chinese traditional culture and to urge young people to be more concerned about the traditional culture.
