Wei Liucheng ends his three-nation visit to Latin America

Secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee Wei Liucheng ended his visit to Bahamas, Mexico, Brazil and returned to China recently.

During his visit, Wei Liucheng met respectively with the Prime Minister of the Bahamas, Minister of Tourism & Aviation of the Bahamas, Mexico's Secretary of Tourism, Assistant-Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, Governor of Quintana Roo State of Mexico, Governor of Paran State of Brazil, and Executive Vice President of EMBRAER.


Wei and his delegation exchanged views with the officials of the three Latin America countries on bilateral development, discussed the issue of Hainan Airlines-EMBRAER cooperation and reached important consensus.


The delegation also held pragmatic talks with Directors of Tourism Planning of Mexico and Chief Leaders Curitiba city of Paran State on tourism planning, city management and ecological protection.

Secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee Wei Liucheng (R) and Governnor of Paran State of Brazil Jaime Lerner sign an agreement to establish sisyerhood relationship between Hainan and Paran on May 13, 2010.

In Brazil, Wei Liucheng, on behalf of Hainan Provincial Government, and Jaime Lerner, Governnor of Paran State of Brazil, signed an agreement to establish sisyerhood relationship between Hainan and Paran . Thus Paran became the first twinned with Hainan in South America.


Wei Liucheng also invited the Governor of Quintana Roo State of Mexico and the Governor of Paran State of Brazil to attend the 14th Inter-Islands Tourism Forum which will be held in Hainan, in November,2010 and received their positive response.
