A policy was passed in a conference meeting of Dongguan Government on March 22 to grant a monthly allowance for the older residents of 80 years old and above in Dongguan.
According to the policy, individuals of 80-89 years old with a local Hukou (the registered residency status ) will receive 100 yuan / month, 90 to 99 years old 200 yuan / month, more than 100 years old 300 yuan / month.
The population of the older people older than 80 years is estimated to be 37 thousand in Dongguan.
