In 2005, Dongguan initiated a proposal to build 7 environmental protection industry bases. Recently one of the 7 environmental protection industry bases, Shatian Plating, Printing and Dyeing base was successfully approved by the Environmental Protection Department of Guangdong Province.
According to a related executive from the Shatian Environmental Protection Bureau, the reuse ratio for intermediate water reclaimed from sewage flowing out of the plating, printing and dyeing industries is expected to exceed 50% after the base starts operation.
The base will integrate plating, printing and dyeing enterprises that cannot be kept in their original place due to environmental and planning concerns. Through intensive management and pollution treatment, the measure should be an effective way to increase the production and to reduce pollution. Finally, an industrial cluster will be formed to drive the transformation of the industrial structure.
About intermediate water
Intermediate water refers to water reclaimed from sewage and waste water after secondary and advanced treatment. It includes water reclaimed from sewage treatment plants after advanced treatment and that recycled from shower water and dish water in large-scale buildings and residence areas. Its quality is said to be between tap water and sewage in the drainage pipe. Therefore, it is given the name "intermediate water".
