Dongguan's GDP energy consumption decreasing since 2006

Dongguan overfulfilled the provincial energy saving target plan in 2009. According to Deng Zhiguang, the city's deputy Mayor, the energy consumption per GDP in Dongguan has been decreasing year by year.

From 2006 to 2008, Dongguan's GDP energy consumption per 10,000 yuan declined to 0.822, 0.778, 0.738 tons of standard coal respectively, declining year by year.

For 2009, the energy consumption value per GDP in Dongguan is 0.705 tons of standard coal per 10,000 yuan, lower than that in 2008 by 4.48% and accomplishing the target of decreasing by 4.36% over the previous year.

According to the statistics, the total electricity consumption in Dongguan decreased by 3.61% and about 1.8 billion kilowatt hours of electricity were saved. The total retail sales of processed oil reached 1.46 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 19.53%.
