China Dragon-Boat Culture Festival to be held in Zhongtang

Zhongtang Township of Dongguan was conferred the title "Hometown of Dragon-Boat Culture in Guangdong Province" on June 7, 2010.

The second China Dragon-Boat Culture Festival will be held in Zhongtang township of Dongguan from June 23rd through to June 25th. 18 dragon-boat teams nationwide have been invited to participate during the festival. Residents can take this opportunity to experience the folk and artistic dragon-boat traditions in different places.

During a press conference held last Monday (June 7), Zhongtang Township was conferred the title "Hometown of Dragon-Boat Culture in Guangdong Province". Last year, the dragon-boat making technique in Zhongtang was approved by the State Council as a National Non-material Cultural Relic.
