Dongguan raises its minimum wage standard to 1100 yuan a month as of March 1st. A city-wide inspection of minimum wages in Dongguan-based enterprises will be carried out by the city's labor department in April and May, as Dongguan Times reported Tuesday (March 1).
Under the circumstances of labor shortages, most enterprises in Dongguan have been well prepared for the minimum wage rise. The salary and welfare offered by many enterprises have exceeded the latest minimum wage standard.
As most of enterprises will pay their employees salaries at the end of that month, the city's labor departments will inspect the enforcement of minimum wage standard in enterprises in the following 2 months. Enterprises will be penalized accordingly in case there would be law-violating actions such as failing to pay employees by the latest minimum wage standard.
