Aug 15th, a Republic of Korea (ROK) delegation comprising of the Grand National Party representatives lead by deputy speaker of the ROK s National Assembly, Chung Eui-hwa, visited Dongzhimen Street s Shi Zi Po community. An introduction of the committee s democratic development and the community s self-governance was presented to the visitors, and they were shown a documentary of Shi Zi Po Committee s competitive election . There were discussions and interactions. The delegation also conducted field studies on the cultural and recreational developments of the community. Wang Shu Xia, deputy chief of Bureau II (Northeast Asian and Indochina Affairs of the Central Committee of CPC) visited the community with the delegation.

The main purpose of this visit is to call on the leaders of our central government, to facilitate exchanges on issues of common concern, including issues relating to Sino-Korean relations, and to promote mutual understanding. Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and a member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee, Jia Qing Lin, met the delegation yesterday.
