On December 23 2010, invited by Professor Philip C.H. CHAN, Deputy President and Provost of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, President of GDUT Professor Chen Xin led a seven-member delegation to visit the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
The two sides made a discussion on the two universities prospective educational cooperation in Dongguan. Professor Chen Xin and Professor Philip C.H. CHAN both agreed to make full use of the advantages of the two universities to achieve win-win cooperation on joint doctoral and master program, joint R & D team and joint open research center / laboratory. Professor Chen Xin extended invitation to Professor Philip C.H. CHAN to participate in GDUT s development of students business incubator and teachers transformation incubator of scientific achievements. Professor Philip C.H. CHAN accepted the invitation with delight. The two sides agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation in the near future, and prepare the implementation of related programs.
On the morning of December 24 2010, Professor Chen Xin met in Hong Kong Professor Thomas Huang, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering and the U.S. Academy of Sciences, Professor Gao Wen, Director of Institute of Digital Media in Peking University, and Professor Lionel M. Ni, Assistant President of the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology to discuss cooperation on joint R & D team and joint research laboratory. Professor Thomas Huang accepted Professor Chen Xin s invitation to be consulting professor of GDUT.
