USTC Signs Memorandum of Cooperation with University of Cambridge

On July 29, President Hou Jianguo and Vice President Chen Chusheng along with their delegation visited the University of Cambridge at its invitation, and signed on behalf of USTC a memorandum of cooperation with the University of Cambridge. Both universities agreed to cooperate on undergraduate student exchanges, joint postgraduate programs, and collaborative building of laboratories during the next three years. The signing of this memorandum was a symbol of the establishment of the official channels of educational cooperation and academic relationship between the two universities.

During the visit, USTC delegation had a detailed discussion with Dr. Kate Pretty, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge about in-depth inter-university academic exchanges and collaborations. A common understanding was reached between USTC and the University of Cambridge on strategic cooperation.

According to the Memorandum of Cooperation, USTC and the University of Cambridge will cooperate on the exchanges and joint training of outstanding students and teachers, collaborative laboratory development, joint seminars and workshops, the sharing of certain academic data and resources, and other matters of mutual interest during the next three years.
